Journey

1998 - 2004

1998 - 2004

Started his career with an FMCG company, Nestle in 1998 until 2000, Kavinder Khurana made enormous achievements and growth, which resulted in his early promotion from Sales Officer to Area Sales manager and he got transferred to Delhi. The most exhilarating and proud moment for Kavinder was that he was the youngest Area Sales Manager working in Nestle at that time. Later he left the job and became a distributor in Nestle from 2001-2004, the company had consistently been seen achieving steady and sustained growth of >10% nationally but in 2001-02, Kavinder Khurana doubled Nestle's sales in his distribution area in south Delhi. As a reward of giving 100% growth in that zone, while Nestle's pan-India growth was only 10%, Nestle’s North Branch Manager offered Noida distribution also to his young firm.

His firms Suvidha Agencies and Sampoorn Marketing continued growing business and adding more companies in their distribution network like Dabur Real, Parle, Idea Cellular etc. The innovations introduced by him in FMCG industry eventually became the standard practices of the company. After achieving marvellous prosperity in his business, he realized that it was a monotonous work, and he realised the need for learning more ion the corporate world, therefore he decided to quit the business and join the corporate hierarchy once again.

2005 - 2010

2005 - 2010

Eventually, he joined a company named Onicra in 2005, in the position of Regional Manager. However, after showing his ability and potential at Onicra Company, he got promoted but he resigned from the position of Vice President in 2007. He opines that no matter how much you learn in your working life, it always seems less.

His craving to learn more had now pulled him towards the retail sector, where he joined India's largest fashion-led hypermarket chain, Vishal Mega Mart, as a CEO-North India in 2007. At that time, there were barely 18 stores of Vishal Mega Mart in North India. Under his leadership, 20 more Vishal Mega Mart stores were opened in North India, resulting in the execution of critical projects in a time-bound manner, thereby earning him accolades from company management and other industry watchers.

In a short time, Kavinder Khurana had acquired a good sense of the retail industry. Eventually, he got an offer from a very large real estate conglomerate in Mumbai, responsible for construction, leasing, and operations of Treasure Island brand of shopping malls. In mid of 2008, he was appointed as a Director Development in Treasure Island Malls, which was later taken over by Phoenix Mills Ltd, Mumbai. He continued with the stated designation until 2010 and during his tenure, he completed three projects of shopping malls in Nanded, Ujjain, and Jabalpur, where the proposed projects were successfully launched in Nanded and Ujjain with 80% occupancy.

2010 - 2015

2010 - 2015

By now, he had gained a good learning of corporate leadership from his career line that could help him build a sustainable and scalable business. That entrepreneurial bug inside him did not die and was once again biting. He resigned from a cushy real estate job and came back to Delhi from Mumbai to fulfil his entrepreneurial ambitions and co-founded a company called Big Shoe Bazaar, which was renamed as yebhi.com in 2010. The evaluation of this company touched 640 crores in 2012, and equity capital of 230 crores was raised in a period of less than 2 years. However, that company was the first step towards his entrepreneurial dream, and he greatly nurtured the company with his expertise. But due to the diverse opinions of the founders and investors, this venture could not become a UNICORN company which all the co-founders had dreamed of. Kavinder Khurana says, "Can you imagine giving steering of a vehicle to all the passengers sitting in it? Where will the vehicle go?" Hence, he exited from the company in 2013.

After that, Kavinder Khurana started identifying the green field opportunities, which are sustainable. After doing a lot of research work, he finally concluded that the biggest problem that exists in India is pollution, this pollution is caused by many factors but hazardous pollution caused by scrapping of batteries is the worst. Although the need for batteries in India is growing tremendously, it has side effects too, alongside the growing cost burden on the economy, the number of batteries being scrapped each year in India is tens of crores. In fact, when they are disposed of, the harmful chemicals drained from the batteries permeate into the soil contaminating the groundwater. Smelting contaminates the air. Another big concern which Kavinder Khurana came across is the Fire safety infrastructure in India. Through research, he found out that the fire safety infrastructure in our country is 70% deficient. To create a social impact, Kavinder Khurana decided to choose these two projects of 'battery life enhancement' and 'innovating fire safety equipment' to save cost, lives and the environment. 2014-15 was spent in R&D to innovate products and technology to support these two endeavours, which were commercially introduced in the market in 2016.

2016 - 2021

2016 - 2021

In 2016, he copyrighted technology called Electrochemical Battery Enhancement Process (EBEP) for battery life enhancement. Since then Energy and Fire Tech India Pvt. Ltd. have serviced more than 500 corporates and 10,000 individual customers, along with the successful rejuvenation of more than 2 lac batteries. Moreover, the demand for their technology and services has increased remarkably, and they are looking forward to expanding their service network across the country and overseas with the same enthusiasm and dedication.

Simultaneously, a unique product on fire safety, i.e., APFE (Automatic and Portable Fire Extinguisher) was filed for patent. Introducing the best quality fire safety products at the most affordable price, Kansi Technovation Pvt. Ltd. started their first factory Rohtak, Haryana in the year 2017. Now, the second factory was established in Jamshedpur in the year 2020.

Continuing the journey of innovation, he also introduced a media house with the brand name Beamforyou.com under the company name Kansi Media House Pvt. Ltd.

Keeping in mind the wide service network serving a large corporate clientele, and end-users in the segment of Battery Services and Revival, a company from the USA called Tesla Power USA LLC approached E&F offering to partner for launching Tesla Power USA batteries in India. This paved the journey of Tesla Power USA in India in 2021. They have also launched the integrated hybrid model of sales and services of new batteries and revival of old batteries from exclusive TESLA POWER SHOPS.

2021 - 2022

2021 - 2022

Tesla Power USA aims to open 500 Tesla Power Shops by the end of the March 2022 and expand its operations to Middle East and Africa,
